Period: observations for 1996–2025 (30 years)

For planning spring trips and cherry blossom viewing, this page compiles the flowering and full-bloom dates recorded in JMA phenological observations. It shows the median for each station and, for each date, the share of years in which the trees had already flowered.

Flowering and full bloom are observed on JMA sample trees. Depending on the station, the observed species is Somei-yoshino or, instead, Ezo-yamazakura (parts of Hokkaido) or Hikanzakura (Okinawa and Amami). JMA revised the stations for phenological observations in 2021, so only stations where observations continue are included.

These are statistics compiled from observations for 1996–2025 (30 years), not a weather forecast for any particular day. For the latest forecasts, see the JMA website.
