Basic approach

So that you can use Tenkiro ("this site") with peace of mind, this page explains what information this site collects and how it is handled.

You can use this site without entering your name, email address or other personal details.

Analytics

This site may use analytics tools to improve the site. Analytics collects information such as the pages viewed and the browsing environment in statistical form through standard browser technologies. We do not collect information that identifies individuals.

If your browser settings or similar indicate that you do not want to be tracked, we respect that setting and do not measure your visit.

Advertising

This site may use third-party ad services (such as Google). In that case, please note the following in advance.

What we receive through the contact form

Messages sent through the contact form are used to respond to your inquiry and to improve the site, and are deleted after being kept for a certain period. When you send a message, we collect the sender's IP address and keep it to prevent and deal with abuse.

Except as required by law or when reporting abuse, we do not provide the content of your message to third parties without your consent.

Current location feature and location data

The "Show the station near me on this page" feature on the home page uses your browser's location (latitude and longitude) only when you press the button. Simply opening the page does not collect your location.

The latitude and longitude are used only to find the nearest temperature station on your device, and are discarded as soon as the search is done. The latitude and longitude themselves are never sent to this site's servers or to third parties, and are not saved on your device.

The only things saved on your device (in the browser's localStorage) are the name / station number / prefecture of the station found, the approximate distance to the station (rounded to the nearest km), and whether you are using the feature. These stay only in this browser, and this site does not collect them. You can erase them by deleting the site data in your browser.

You can withdraw location permission at any time in your browser's site settings (such as the lock icon in the address bar). Even if you withdraw it, all other features remain available.

Page ratings

When you press a rating in the rating box on a page (such as "Was this page helpful?"), the rating and any reason you pick or comment you write are sent to this site's servers, stored and used to improve the site. Along with it, we record the type of device, the OS and browser, the screen size, the language, the time zone, the page you rated and the country the access came from. Your IP address is not stored as it is: it is replaced with a SHA-256 value calculated with a value only the operator holds, and used to tell repeated submissions from the same person. Rating records are deleted automatically after 1 year.

Settings and history saved on your device

Some features of this site save settings and records in your browser's storage (localStorage). The following information is saved; all of it stays in the browser on this device. Of these, only the save of My Town Farm is also sent to this site's servers.

You can erase the history of recently viewed pages at any time with "Clear history" on the home page, and the pairs in the head-to-head comparison with "Forget saved pairs" on the comparison page (erased content cannot be restored). Deleting the site data in your browser erases everything at once.

Depending on the browser, this saved content may be deleted automatically if you do not open this site for a long time.

Where the system runs

As a rule, this site runs on servers in Japan.
